Hole #1

216 FT

Let's get started

As the name of this hole infers, let's get started!  The first hole is straight forward, literally. The creek is to the left so be careful – don’t hook your tee shot if there is any water.  Landing in the creek can also be problematic with or without water, because you will be shooting up to pin. Best advice is to give all you got going forward or landing to the right on the hillside.

As explained in the rules, the pin for “beginners” is any portion of the cement storm drain, whereas the pin for “experienced” players is only the top metal portion – see red box picture.

Accuracy counts

Tee off from either side of the front of hole #1

This is one of the shorter holes on the course, can be problematic for wild throws as it has very narrow corridor lined with trees on both sides and once again on the left side is the creek - i.e. sand trap.

Hole #3

289 FT

Welcome to the Jungle!

Tee off from either side of the front of hole #2

The longest hole of the front nine, lined with trees and if you hook to the left you will come to understand why we say "welcome to the Jungle" as there are trees everywhere! Shoot straight and if you get past the face in the tree, you did well. It's rare if one birdies this hole, par is totally respectable.

Where's that Confounded Bridge?

The pin is the furthest back vertical post to the left holding up the horizontal railing of the bridge  - it is clearly marked with the #4 nailed to it as shown in the picture.

Pay close attention to the water level in the creek and under the bridge as this hole can have a very large "sand trap" that should be taken into consideration when teeing off. Rather easy hole to birdie - hitting ANY part of the vertical post counts! Highly recommended skidding your disc on the concrete so you hit the base of the post.

Hole #5

164 FT

Over there

Tee off from anywhere from the wooden bridge. The storm drain is just past the blacktop walking path.

Players that throw with a slice have the advantage. Players with a hook need to be careful of the creek especially if there is water and will have to navigate the trees.

Hole #6

289 FT

Back the way you came

As the name for this hole states, "back the way you came" the reverse of hole #3. Getting past the face in the tree is still the goal, avoiding slicing into the trees or ending up in the creek.

Can only tee off from the right-hand side of the storm drain for hole #3.

Hole #7

164 FT

An easy one?

Can only tee off from the left-hand side of the storm drain of hole # 6.

Again one of the shortest holes on the course and can easily be birdied. Shot straight... hooking to the left is better than slicing to the right!

Named after Tony Lyons - for he eagled the hole the second time playing, earning the respect of the      co-founder of the course. The green lines painted on the tree are there for a reason - hitting below or above doesn't count.

Number 9, Number 9, Number 9

Same Tee off from same box as hole #1

This hole has changed many times and it might again in the future. The creek plays a huge part and needs to be taken into consideration if there is ANY water present. Players with a slice have the advantage.

Throw hard, throw to the right and keep it low, is the best advice from the co-founder.

The tree is rather slender, laying up might be a wise move. Hit between the green lines, below or above does not count.

Back Nine – starts at the very end of the road walking west toward Jeronimo Street.

Hole #10

ah-ha!

(the sound an Eagle makes)

As the name of the hole implies – this is an easy hole to Eagle.  Shoot anywhere from the black top behind the metal guardrail.

Hole #11

370 FT

The Longest Yard

This is the longest hole of the entire course. Basically two tee shots for most players.

Be very careful not to over shot when putting, discs have a tendency to roll down in the creek bed.

Tee off from either side of hole #10

Hole #12

275 FT

Red Rocker

Named after Sammy Hagar this is the only hole on the course that is a rock!  Some say it looks like a Japanese Zero symbol, other say it’s just a rock painted red.  Bottom line you just need to hit any part of the painted rock.  If there is any water in the creek, be extremely careful, discs end up at the bottom and the creek can be 2-5 feet deep depending on the time of year.

Hole #13

272 FT

Dog Day Afternoon

Ideal for players that have a hook throw, basically a huge dog-lay left back over the creek to hole #10.  Tee off from anywhere behind the creek and behind the red rocker.   The founder of the course shoots from a perch about a foot away from the red rock on the side of the hill (see picture).

Hole #14

Faces Only

This hole has changed many times over the nearly two decades of play.  Running water in the creek has claimed the previous holes and might claim this one some day too!   Tee off from the left side of hole #13 only – NOT the right side (see picture).   The pin is the face of the down tree with clearly marked with the green 9” circle dead smack in the middle. Only the face counts, not the sides and not the back.  Players that over throw this hole will surely bogey it!

Hole #15

193 FT

Knobby Knee

The tree looks like a upside down person sticking out of the ground, the two trunks are the legs, the one to the right has the “knobby knee” and the #15 nailed to it.  Either trunk counts so long as you are between the clearly paint green lines.  Tee off from behind the tree on the left side of the creek.  (see picture)

Hole #16

211 FT

This hole again?

Yes… this is the same hole as #1 and #7, hence the name…. This hole again?   Tee off from left side of Hole #17 (see picture).  Most players throw with a wide hook, straight over the lower part of the creek heading right then hooking to the left.  Experience players that need to make up some ground, shot straight at the hole on the left side and hope they have enough distance to cross the creek and end at the base of the storm drain.

Hole #17

211 FT

Stuck in the Middle?

The pin is the tree you just teed off from.  Only the trunk in the middle counts and is clearly marked with green lines.  If there is any water in the creek be careful!  Tee off from only the left side of hole #16.  Experience players throw through the two trees hoping to land at the base of 17.  Most players throw down the path slicing to the right.

Hole #18

186 FT

It’s how you finish that counts!

You can play a bad game, but for some reason a birdie on the last hole will end your day on a positive note!  Tee off from the right side of hole #17 – NOT the left side! (see picture).   Be careful of cars on the road – if you hit paint – add a stroke and leave a note on the car!  The pin is the last vertical pole of the wood railing running down the side of the street.  The #18 is nailed to the rounded posted.  (see picture) The square sign post to the right DOES not count and is an intentional obstacle for players that over shoot and end up in the street.
